THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO:

Enhancing friendship & cooperation between workrooms.

Defining & upholding fabricating standards for decorative workrooms.

Defining & teaching the basics of design to maximize ability to produce custom products.

I am a well-known industry speaker and instructor and have earned high praise for my teaching style (read the testimonials). I will be teaching at several events in the coming year. Make plans to come join me:

February 16-17, 2009.   PERFECTING YOUR WORKROOM SKILLS, held at the CHF Academy in Charlotte, NC. Ever wish you could gain the experience of years in the business or a larger workroom - in just a couple of days?   If you hire sewers for your workroom, do you wish you could get them up to speed on basic workroom skills within a couple of days? This is your chance!! This class will compress years of hands-on experience into two days of basic machine, cutting and sewing techniques. For more details on the class content, Click here.   I guarantee you will walk away from this class with skills and techniques that will dramatically enhance your productivity and quality.

February 19-20, 2009.   STRENGTENING YOUR SWAG SKILLS, a new 2-day hands-on swag pattern class at the CHF Academy in Charlotte, NC. We will cover the basic swag pattern shape, how it transitions into a finished swag and how to draw the pattern for a swag of any shape or size. The class is based on my books, "The Professional Workroom Handbook of Swags, Volumes 1 & 2."   I will teach you how to draw patterns and troubleshoot swags of any shape and size. For more details on the swag class, Click here.   I guarantee you will walk away from these classes fully confident in your ability to draw patterns for and fabricate swags of any shape or size.

The Academy is a beautiful facility and they provide many special amenities: a delicious deli lunch of your choice each day, taxi service to and from school from the host hotel, Rowley orders delivered directly to the school to save you shipping charges, and much more.    Click here to read more about the Custom Home Furnishings Academy and to register for your classes.

August 27-29th, 2009 . The 19th D&WC Designer & Workroom Conference, Jacksonville, FL. I will be teaching three classes at this conference. "It's A Business, Not a Hobby!," "Constructing a Top-down Bottom-up Shade," and "50 Fabulous Workroom Tips & Techniques." Click here to read the details on each of these classes. The DWC conference is a wonderful opportunity to network with industry colleagues, experts and vendors. They offer a wide variety of classes in workroom operations, design, marketing, and other business related subjects. Mark your calendar now to join us in Jacksonville. Click here to read more about the conference and to register for your classes.

Every single day. I am monitoring the new dreamDraper xChange forum. It is a public forum, open to anyone who wishes to network with colleagues in the industry. We have two goals for this forum: to introduce you to the dreamDraper design software and to provide you the opportunity to network with others in the industry on any industry-related questions: marketing, dealing with clients, fabrication, design, suppliers, etc. Come take a look at the xChange. We also host a picturetrail site with albums that show off the features of the exquisite dreamDraper software. Learn more about this awesome design software that allows you to do the space planning, design an entire room with specific paints, wallpaper, furniture, accessories and design a window treatment directly on a picture of the client's window, fabric and all.

When you want me. I am available to teach 1.5 hour and 3 hour seminars on workroom related topics. Topics can be combined to create a full day seminar. If you are a part of a networking group or have multiple employees who wish to improve their skills, we can put together a program to suit your needs. Click here for more information on available topics and for contact information.

With all of these opportunities, I hope to get to meet you soon.
